Heat Transfer on Peristaltic Transport with Slip Condition in an Asymmetric Porous Channel (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Simultaneous effects of slip and heat transfer on peristaltic transport of an incompressible electrically conducting viscous fluid in an asymmetric channel is studied under the assumptions of long wavelength and low Reynold number .The asymmetry is produced by choosing the peristaltic wave train on the walls to have different amplitudes and phase.Exect solutions for stream function, velocity ...
متن کاملControlling and measuring quantum transport of heat in trapped-ion crystals.
Measuring heat flow through nanoscale devices poses formidable practical difficulties as there is no "ampere meter" for heat. We propose to overcome this problem in a chain of trapped ions, where laser cooling the chain edges to different temperatures induces a heat current of local vibrations (vibrons). We show how to efficiently control and measure this current, including fluctuations, by cou...

متن کاملKinetics of ion transport through supramolecular channels in single crystals.
Single-crystal to single-crystal transformations are possible by ion-exchange and transport reactions through supramolecular channels that are composed of crown ether molecules and use trihalide ions as scaffolds. Kinetic measurements of ion transport at different temperatures provide activation energy data and show that a very fast exchange of K(+) ions with Na(+) ions occurs.
متن کاملKey role of asymmetric interactions in low-dimensional heat transport
We study the heat current autocorrelation function (HCAF) in one-dimensional, momentum-conserving lattices. In particular, we explore if there is any link between the decaying characteristics of the HCAF and asymmetric interparticle interactions. The Lennard-Jones model is investigated intensively in view of its significance to applications. It is found that, in the time range accessible to num...
